Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Neck

Posted on Mon, 20 Jun 2016
Question: On either side of my neck, there looks like swelling, esp on my left side. I had some skin tags removed by the dermatologist last week, close to the swellings. Are those lymph nodes? What could cause the swelling?

Brief Answer:
As explained, please check and give me feedback.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/64 - looks to be having swelling on either side of neck - especially on left side - had some skin tags removed last week - close to the swelling - wants to know whether these are lymph nodes or what and reasons ...

My thoughts:
If the swellings are in the skin or say attached to the skin and move with skin, this is due to reactionary edema one gets on removal of the skin tags.

If these are deep, can be palpated separately, can not be moved with skin then are probable the lymph nodes. The cause can be minimal infection or reactionary inflammation.

Please check this and give me the feedback so that we can discuss further.
