Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Lip With A Pimple On The Lip
Question: Hi, I woke up this morning with a huge swollen lip and numbness with a big pimple to the side of it. I managed to pop the pimple, however my lip is still swollen and there is still a bit of numbness. Is the swelling most likely caused by the pimple? and what can I do to reduce the swelling since I already popped the pimple?
Thanks
Thanks
Brief Answer:
swollen lip
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
You noticed swelling of your lip and a small pimple. The swelling is more than likely from the infection related to the pimple. Now that you have ruptured the pimple the area should gradually improve. If the swelling increases then you have a larger area on infection and may need an antibiotic to treat the infection. Keep the area as clean as possible. You can also try putting ice on the swelling

Okay thank you, it's what I presumed. Would the numbness make sense as well? it did reduce once I ruptured the pimple but it is still slightly there.
Brief Answer:
numbness
Detailed Answer:
The numbness is due to the pressure on the nerves from the swelling. This is resolve when the swelling resolves. This is to be expected.
