Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
This swelling around the vagina, over the vulva can be due to vulvitis or any compression injury following long term use of tight under garments. The best and simplest way at present would be to use cold compresses over vulva for 15 min period and thrice a day. This shall help reduce the swelling and in case any itching or redness appears, then you may contact for an opinion again.

Detailed Answer:
Okay , if you mean the introitus then the possible cause can be vaginitis or frictional injury . If there is no itching , pain and discharge, then still cold compresses and vaseline application locally can help reduce the swelling in next 10-12 hrs.
If there is no foul smelling discharge or itching then infection seems unlikely and mechanical injury seems to be a possible diagnosis and that can be dealt with cold compresses. If the swelling doesn't subside or increase inspite of cold compresses then you would be required to seek a gyn opinion and a local examination of the same.
