Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Foot Post Injury

Question: I dropped a board on the top of my foot and it immediately started to swell. It has now been 18 hrs and there is still pain and a lot of swelling and bruising. Is it worth it to go to the Dr for an xray? Will they be able to do anything if the foot is broken? I am also currently pregnant.
Brief Answer:
You should get splinting
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I have studied your case. If there is pain and swelling and it is increasing then you should go to ER and get x rays of the feet. Your doctor would like to give you splinting also. It can be a brace or plaster slab. Along with that you might need ice fomentation and rest. Keep your foot over a pillow.
Tell in ER that you are pregnant so they will shield your uterus during x rays. Avoid pain killer if it is initial three to five months.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if you want to know any thing else.
Thanks
