Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Head And Intermittent Vomiting After Injury

Question: Our 7 month old baby tried crawling and fell on her forehead on a wooden floor. Never unconscious she cried and there was swelling. She has since been happy and barely slept but has had the occasional vomiting after eating (like reflux, not large amounts) although she has always done this, just not recently. Also occasional hiccups. Any reason to go to ER?

Hi...I understand your concern. First be reassured that your kid is normal. I will suggest you danger signs of head injury -
1. Vomiting continuously
2. Seizures
3. Watery of bloody discharge from ears and nose
4. Unconsciousness
5. Altered sensorium or behavior.
If none of them are present, I don't think you should worry about his trivial head injury. For pain you can give oral Paracetamol in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly.
