Suggest Treatment For Swelling Over The Legs

Question: Both my legs have been swollen for over a month. Upon waking they are fine - at night they itch a lot, especially the ankles and feet. Saw a dermatologist who recommended graduated compression stockings and told me it is lack of exercise, especially in the calves. Haven't got the stockings yet. My age is 80 and I had 4-bypass surgery in Oct.2014 and left leg go infected after they harvested the veins from it.

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have swollen legs. It can be due to many reasons.
You should search the cause of swelling.
You should go for kidney function test, total protein level, liver function test. If you don't have any other causes of swelling then it can be due to lac of exercise.

Compression stocking is helpful to reduce the swelling. Elevation of legs and drugs like lasix can be used depending on cause.
