Suggest Treatment For Swollen Barthloin Cyst

default
Posted on Tue, 15 Jul 2014
Question: I had a swollen, but unirritated barthloin cyst and was trying to bring swelling down with tea tree oil, witch XXXXXXX and calamine lotion. I believed it burned the soft skin and now I am wondering how to heal the skin down there? Is neosporin/ bacitracin ok? The gland is still swollen, but no pain except for where th area outside is. Black and blue irritated skin. I am doing site baths and had it marsupialized last OCt.

Brief Answer:
AS BELOW

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
If the Bartholin's cyst has flared up post marsupialization , it is time to have it excised and removed.
Recurrent infection mandates that.
Do NOT self treat it.
You might need antibiotics.
Can you upload a photo of the lesion.
Please apply local Bacitracin ointment and avoid handling the area too much.
The burned skin would re epithelialize ( grow back ) in its normal course.
Please upload a photo, as self medication can be dangerous here.
All the best
