Brief Answer:
Whole lymph node should be collected.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
For Hodkins lymphoma it is characteristic that in lymph nodes there are only few cancerous cells. The rest are regular lymphocytes which try to destroy this cells.
That is why, lymph node biopsy very often is negative as it is hard to collect this few cells.
Hodgins lymphoma likes to recur. That is why, any lymph nodes enlargement can not be ignored. The best way to diagnose it right now is to collect whole lymph node and check it by pathologist.
I suggest her to consult good hematologist or general surgeon and suggest lymph node removal.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
