Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of GERD
Most symptoms indicate GERD, please check with your doctor
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Firstly I am sorry to hear about your ordeal and hope we can work together to find the cause and help relieve you of your troublesome symptoms.
I would like to start by saying that majority of your symptoms point towards a gastrointestinal issue (GIT issue), because symptoms like: headaches, pain radiating to the back, bitter taste in mouth (most probably due to regurgitation of liquid), heart burn, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, difficulty in breathing/chewing/speaking are most likely due to acid reflux or a condition called gastroesophageal reflux disease; other possible symptoms can also include chest pain, dry cough, sore throat, early satiety (stomach is full with a small amount of food or drink), etc.
To confirm or rule this out I would recommend:
+ 24-hour oral ph monitoring
+ An upper GI endoscopy
The only 2 symptoms that are unrelated are the sores on the legs and twitching in the legs. Although the twitching in legs can also be related to GERD due to low intake of fluids, but the sores can have an independent cause.
Please first discuss the possibility of GERD with your doctor and in the meantime go about the following suggestions:
+Avoid spicy food
+Avoid fatty food
+Avoid fried food
+Avoid oily food
+Avoid alcohol completely
+Avoid smoking completely
+Avoid carbonated drinks
+Avoid tea and coffee
+Avoid long gaps between meals
+Avoid stress
+Drink plenty of fluids
+Have 4-5 smaller meals instead of 2 large meals
+Take 1 tablet of omeprazole 15 minutes before each meal
+Avoid vigorous exercise
I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
