Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for choosing Health care magic for your query,
Have noted all the details.
Most likely the doctors at Mayo are treating you on guidelines of irritable bowel syndrome.
Crymbalta contains duloxetine,It is a SNRI,primararily used as a antidepressant;duloxetine appeared to be effective for many features of IBS. Severe constipation is one of the main side effect of this drug,However as your bowel moments are frequent,This side effect of constipating is going to help you in your case.
Colestid contains Colestipol, Basically used to lower high cholesterol levels in the blood.Colestipol is a medicine which absorbs bile acids from the intestines.Too much bile acid can result in diarrhea, so Colestid is generally used to control IBS diarrhea.
Gabapentin -The rectum plays a role as a dynamic reservoir for the temporary storage of faeces with rectal pressures being maintained at a low level until defecation is initiated. Rectal compliance is a measure of the resistance of the rectal wall to distension reflecting the tone of the rectal wall. Apart from disturbances in rectal sensitivity, significant alterations in rectal tone and compliance may be observed in a subset of IBS patients.Gabapentin reduces rectal sensory thresholds through attenuating rectal sensitivity to distension and enhancing rectal compliance in diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome patients.
Follow this treatment as adviced and is definitely going to help you.
Though not asked by you yet some general life style changes I would recommend are-
-Add fibres to your diet. Fiber adds bulk to your digestive system. It is broadly accessible in grains, vegetables and natural products. Concentrate on soluble fiber. This includes vegetables and natural products.
-Consume plenty fruits and vegetables.
-Take carbohydrates in required quantity like bread, rice, oats, pasta, potatoes, and plantain.
- Include substitutes like soya, rice or oat, milk and yogurts that are rich in calcium in your diet.
-Take a limited amount of foods high in fats and sugars..
-Drink a lot of liquid, no less than 66 ounce every day.
Regards.
I have been taking Citrucil once a day, too. Should I continue....or stop and try to get just natural fiber. One more thing......the Mayo found out that I am lactose intolerant and that food moves though my body at a faster rate then it should.
Follow up advice.
