Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Flu While Treating Breast Cancer
Question: My 57 year old sister who is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer was diagnosed with flu yesterday. She was given Tamiflu. What can I do to help her recover? Comfort? Food? Liquids? And how long will it last?
Brief Answer:
Flu
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking
Usually, you'll need nothing more than bed rest and plenty of fluids to treat the flu. But in some cases, your doctor may prescribe an antiviral medication, such as oseltamivir (Tamiflu). If taken soon after you notice symptoms, these drugs may shorten the illness by a day or so and help prevent serious complications ,especially in the case of your sister.
