Suggest Treatment For Symptoms Of Gastroenteritis
Question: wife, 79, threw up, pale, shaking, said she was very cold and does not want to go to emergency room. about 1/2 hour ago. now resting on couch and not shaking. Heart attach?
Brief Answer:
Possible Gastroenteritis, not related to heart attack, wait&see
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am sorry for the situation your wife is in.
Her symptoms of:
- throwing up
- havingcold
- shaking
are not due to heart attack. My thoughts go for possible:
- food poisoning if you've consumed anything new when eating
- viral infection associated with gi Symptoms.
If she is not having a shortness of
breath, chest or arm pain, then I advise to wait and see.
Let her rest more, give her water or other rehydration fluids, give also probiotics ...
If she will continue to throw up, should send her to ER for further evaluation and more specific treatment like taking fluids intravenously.
Wish fast recovery.

my wife's blood pressure today was 100/50 and a nurse asked if she ran low blood pressure. she is still weak. could this explain her problem yesterday?
Brief Answer:
Yes,low blood pressure caused by dehydration
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Yes, feeling weak is due to low blood pressure.
When she's vomiting, she has lost fluids and electrolytes, that have caused decrease in blood pressure.
That's why I recommended lots of fluids intake with OTC ORS to replace the lost fluids and electrolytes.
Wish fast recovery.
