Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for writing through HCM.
Sleep disturbance is common as a person gets older. Most common cause is primary insomnia without any underlying problem. At this age commonest psychiatric illness is depression and it is associated with insomnia.
Regular monitoring of the BP and sugar is required. Continues drugs for this conditions.
Bemelatonin will help in restoring the sleep and circadian cycle. It is good drugs.
Read the sleep hygiene steps from the internet and follow it for your mother. Do not allow her to sleep in the afternoon. Day time naps will reduce night time sleep.
If you feel after talking with her that she is depressed or low then visit a psychiatrist for further management.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have further query then feel free to ask.
Wish you good health.
