Hi

She was in a minor road traffic accident and I brought her to the private hospital where she was diagnosed with a slipped disk on her back and a slipped rib.

The slipped rib is very painful and the doctor is recommending Corticosteroid injections. The issue is we are both 36 she works as a barrister and I director in a property company we wish to start a family in the coming months. My wife is very anti drugs and medication and dose not want to take anything like this while pregnant. We also feel that these shots are just masking the issue and not addressing it. Should she be seeing I chiropractor or someone like this to try and manipulate it back into place

She also got a torn tendon in her shoulder and they also want to use these corticosteroids for this. Which I feel is also again masking the pain while not addressing the underline issue I feel the best course is keyhole surgery or our lives will be greatly held up

I look forward to hearing from you

Brief Answer:
Needs active treatment and p[ossible cure before going for pregnancy

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your an elucidate feedback.
As you both must be aware of, the pregnancy can caused increased pains in the slipped disc area locally or as referred pain and the slipped 12 th rib too.
Hence it is imperative that your wife be well treated before she decides to go for pregnancy. You have to control the pregnancy till she is off the problems.
Steroid shots help by drastically reducing the inflammation and the pan thereof.
And hence are recommended.
Simultaneously seeing a Chiroprtactor can be of great help. In fact see the Chiropractor first, have his treatment and an opinion regarding the steroid injection and if she/he says to go ahead, get it done.

I hope this answer helps you further in decision making.
