Suggest Treatment For Tachycardia
Please follow up with the urgent care
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern
Persistent tachycardia could not be taken lightly and needs medical attention. Since you already have a history of gastric ulcers and is using advil, the likely cause for tachycardia could be blood loss from bleeding ulcer.
However, EKG, blood pressure assessment is mandatory to rule out any underlying cardiac problems.
I recommend that you stop taking advil and follow up with the emergency/urgent care.
Blood investigations assessing complete blood count, hb, hematocrit ,thyroid function should be done. If blood investigations and blood pressure is indicative of blood loss, Then depending on the degree of blood loss, IV fluid therapy, blood transfusion, Therapy with H2 blockers and PPIs and endoscopy to stop bleeding from ulcer may be necessary. What exact treatment course can be decided only after evaluating you. In chronic low amount of blood losses, just treatment with Pantoprazole and discontinuing advil will suffice.
Please discontinue advil. You can use tramadol instead for pain.
Hope this answers your questions
