Goodevening Doctors, I would like to something about my patient s case. He had this sepsis due to his decubitus ulcer. He was paralized for quite some years. Is there any significant that this patient could get gastric ulcer? how? what specific ulcer is it? PLEASE HELP me. Thank YOU
Patients with decubitus ulcers may not develop gastric ulcers. But chronic bedridden patients may have a lot of stress and develop ulcers, which is called Curling's ulcer.
In patients with stroke, there is an elevation of intracranial pressure, which leads to ulcer called Cushing's ulcers.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
