Suggest Treatment For Tail Bone Pain Along With Sensitive Painful Skin
Question: Is there a topical treatment for skin pain and tailbone pain. I am diabetic and a hemiparesis sufferer. When sitting in my wheelchair or driving the car the pain becomes intolerable. Being hemiparesis sufferer, moving around is difficult.
Brief Answer:
Important to know the cause
Detailed Answer:
Good day.
Noted your concern. it is important to know the cause of pain. it could be due to pressure or neuropathic pain. Please make sure that there is no reddening of skin in the affected area. You may use a soft cushion or pad to support the affected area. Diclofenac or Ketorelac gel/Ointment is available to apply to skin. make sure to use only a small quantity. hope your kidney function is good. if not, do not use any of these. Simple Paracetamol also is effective to be taken as oral pill thrice a day . If pain is not coming down with these measures,,then you may need stronger pain medications by prescription.

No redness, but the skin feels thin in that area. It also feels pinched, or gathered. Can't tall if it is or isn't. Kidney question is a good one. Prefer not to take anything that would impair the kidneys. My PCP would not be happy with me. I was going to ask about Aspercreme, but that may have the same issue. Is there anything like a numbing crime? Pharmacist suggested Tiger Balm, but ????
Thanks!
Thanks!
Brief Answer:
Please do not use tiger balm.
Detailed Answer:
Okay. I prefer not to prescribe any painkillers which can harm kidneys in diabetic patients.
Please do not use tiger balm. Your skin is thin and tiger balm can cause irritation or even minor degree of burns. This will cause secondary infection as the skin will breakdown easily and bacteria can get it.
Numbing cream ( lignocaine) also is available, but it gives only temporary relief. Codene or hydrocodone is a good choice. You need prescription from PCP for this.

Sorry, nodded off there a bit. I am OK with lignocaine, temporary relief is fine. Codeine and hydrocodone would sure help but they have too many other issues.
Thanks very much and I will get with my PCP concerning the lignocaine. I feel better just knowing there is something out there! You have really helped and I thank you from the bottom of my bottom!!
