Ok, I sent it to the email. I don't know why I couldn't get it to upload correctly.
Brief Answer:
Needs surgical repair.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
I have seen the report. You have a full thickness tear of subcapsularis tendon with a retraction of 2.5cm. This needs to be surgically repaired as a retracted tendon can never heal on a conservative treatment.
Your doctor has guided you correctly. A surgical treatment in this case is necessary.
Please feel free to discuss further.
Regards.

Thank you for looking at the report and your response. Can you tell me how time sensitive this surgery is? Would waiting another week or two or even a month make any difference in the final outcome of the surgery? What kind of recovery can I expect? Should the surgery restore full function with no pain?
Brief Answer:
Details below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The surgery should be done within one to two weeks of the injury. The delay will cause a fibrosis of the torn ends of the tendon and will delay the healing and will make the proper repair of the tendon more difficult.
After the surgery it usually takes 3-4 weeks for recovery. Pain and swelling may persist for few weeks. You will have to do proper physiotherapy to restore the full range of movement around your shoulder joint.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately it has already been four weeks since the accident. I have an appointment with a surgeon in a couple of days and will schedule the surgery at that time. Is there any problem with taking ibuprofen for the pain? I read somewhere that it interferes with the tendon healing and should not be taken.
Brief Answer:
Use in moderate doses.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Ibuprofen taken in moderate doses like 400mg taken thrice a day after meals is not harmful and does not interfere with the blood supply of the tendons. You can use it on SOS basis also if the pain is less. Do keep the arm immobilized till then.
Regards.
