Suggest Treatment For Tendonitis
Less priced alternatives available. Talk to your orthopedician.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Tendonitis means inflammation of a tendon which is the fibrous end of a muscle before it connects with a bone. Steroid injections help in reducing the inflammation and thereby provide relief. There are several inexpensive or less expensive steroid preparations available although they might not be frequently used. You need to talk to your orthopedician about which would be feasible for you. Please mention the financial constraints and I hope that he would cooperate.
Ice compress or ibuprofen often help in reducing inflammation but their effect may not be at par to the local infiltration of steroids. In such a case I would suggest you to avoid ibuprofen since it increases the propensity of getting gastritis. I do not think that other oral medications would be beneficial as well.
Please continue the stretching exercises.

Thanks for writing back. Dexamethasone and hydrocortisone are cheaper alternatives as compared to other injectable corticosteroids like Kenalog and Depo-Medrol. As such, triamcinolone, Kenalog, Celestone, methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol) are some of the corticosteroids that are given by injection into body tissues.
Hope that helps.
Glad to be of service.
