Question : I have terrible back pain, nausea, dark urine, light colored stool and itchy skin. What could be causing this?

UTI or obstructive jaundice , likely causes

I appreciate your concern

A number of causes can be responsible for such a presentation. The most likely being a Urinary tract infection. A urinary tract stone can also be the cause. Dark urine with pale stool, itchy skin indicates obstructive jaundice and Liver function tests should be done. Urine R/E , Ultrasound abdomen /pelvis, Hepatitis serology should be part of the workup in consultation with your doctor.
