Suggest Treatment For Testicle Cancer
Question: Hi Doc
Im a male age 22 - I have been told that i have testicle cancer as there is a lump on the left testicle and that i would need to be sure before i do an operation please. I need your advice with regards to the xrays done on the bottom part plus the CT scans i did on the stomach.
I want to check my whole body making sure it has not spread. I will attach all the scans for you to look at and look forward to your reply.
Thanks in advance

Brief Answer:
Will need the reports
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
I understand your concerns. Testicular cancer is curable with proper treatment. Usually it starts with removal of the testis (even if it has spread). Followed by either observation or chemotherapy or radiotherapy depending upon the stage and type.
You have attached the scan films which are not possible to interpret. Please upload the reports (printed) so that I can check if there is any spread.
Hope this helps. I will be available for follow-up.
Regards

I have attached the report for you, please check.
Can you please advise which doctor should preform this operation on me and how should it be handled before and afterward?
What should i watch out for to avoid spread of this in my body? Is there any tests i need to carry out.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
I have checked
Detailed Answer:
These reports suggest that it is limited to the testis. But we need a chest Xray too.
Also blood tests for alfafetoprotein, beta-HCG and LDH.
Surgery can be done by an urologist, uro-oncologist or onco-surgeon. It is not a difficult one but should be done through an incision in the groin, not in the scrotum.
After surgery again we need to repeat blood tests for alfafetoprotein, beta-HCG and LDH and then decide on need for further treatment.
