Suggest Treatment For Testicular Discomfort

Question: Dear Doctor,
I have been experiencing testicular discomfort the last 3 to 4 days. It began as a slight noticeable pain when I walked or strained in my right testicle. Then 2 days later I noticed my left testicle was painful to the touch. The right was not. I now notice it is not as painful to the touch today but I have some discomfort in the prostate, bladder region. I only seem to have discomfort when I strain, walk or push the area. It is in the form of a dull ache. I have no pain or burning when urinating. Urine color appears normal. I have used a urinalysis dip stick test. I have negative test for blood, nitrites and leukocytes. I do not know if this is mechanical injury or some type of infection.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Hello,
Thank You for consulting HealthcareMagic!
Mechanical injury and also infection like Epididymitis, urine infection can be possibilities which explain your symptoms; but at the same time things like Testicular torsion, Kidney stones, Idiopathic testicular pain etc needs to be ruled out.
I would order for repeat complete urine examination and ultrasound examination to isolate the cause. Your local physician will know about the tests. It would be better if you can consult the doctor at the earliest.

I have noticed today that I have very little testicular pain to the touch. I seem to have only a dull ache when walking or straining. Maybe a better description would be when blood pressure is heavier in that region. It is in the testicle area only. I wanted to ask if any type of hernia or strain could cause this. I also wanted to inform that I have been incapacitated for about 2 months from severe sciatica. The pain from my sciatica is now much better in my hip and back and I am walking more. I am wondering if the testicle discomfort could be a referred pain from the sciatica.
I retook the urine test, all still negative.

Hi,
Good to hear that your urine test, all still negative.
Yes, hernia or strain could also cause this. Moreover, Varicocele should also be excluded(as you are saying pressure is heavier in that region) apart from all the causes I mentioned in previous answer.
It's possible that testicle discomfort could be a referred pain from the sciatica. But we cannot assume in such way and leave it.
As the pain is getting decreased, it can be due to mechanical strain as well, but important things like testicular torsion should be kept in mind and so physical examination is very much needed by your doctor.
