Question : Is it true that thyroid cancer is easily curable by removing the lobe (.s) where the cancer lies ?
Brief Answer:
yes
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.
Yes thyroid cancer, if it is confined to the thyroid gland, can be cured by removing the thyroid gland. If it has metastasized out of the gland then radiation or chemotherapy may be needed. After surgery the oncologist will want to monitor thyroid blood tests regularly. Thyroid cancer is very treatable and the outlook is very good with proper care and follow up.
