Suggest Treatment For Tightness Of Penile Foreskin
Question: Hello Doctor XXXXXXX Goel,
Since the past 1 week the foreskin of penis has become tighter as well the veins thicker & red. I am unable to pull the skin backwards & I feel my skin has shrunk, thereby making it painful to pull the skin backwards.
Also I feel itching under the foreskin, on the erogenous tip of the penis. The erogenous part has become red & I can feel a thin white layer forming under the skin, sort of skin drying and peeling off.
I am under an attack of Varicella (Chickenpox) Virus from and under a high dose of antivirals from the past 1 week. My skin specialist doctor has given me, which I have been taking for the past 1 week.
1. Aciclovir 800mg 5 times X 7 days
2. Cap Augmentin 625mg 2 times X 5 days (amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium)
3. Levocetrizine Zocet 5 Tablets 2 times X 5 days
A. Could this have occurred because of taking this medication?
B. Please suggest medication to get rid of this phenomenon.
Regards

Brief Answer:
TIGHT FORESKIN
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
The tightness of foreskin as well as itching are happening because of fungal infection. Fungal infection can happen because of lowered immunity ( Chicken pox) or not cleaning the area daily with the skin pulled back. It is not happening because of the medications.
You should start yourself on T. Fluconazole 200 mg once daily for 5 days under the care of your doctor and also start applying clotrimazole cream twice daily once you are able to retract the skin back. Apply the cream for 3 weeks.
Take care.
Sincerely
Rajiv Goel

Thank you so much doctor.
I clean my genitals (beneath the skin) everyday with dettol while bathing with dettol water.
I had visited the my local specialist doctor on Saturday. He has prescribed Fluconazole tablet only for 1 day. Just 1 single dose.
He has also prescribed clotrimazole cream Candid to be applied for 2 weeks.
