Suggest Treatment For Tinea Versicolor On The Back
Question: Hi, i need an opinion. I am on treatment for tinea versicolor, i have it on my back. It can spread on my chest even if i am under treatment?
Brief Answer:
Usually, it doesn't spread while the person is already on treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic,
Tinea versicolor usually doesn't spread further while the person is taking antifungal medicines especially if the person is taking oral antifungals.
Although as a rare occurrence if the fungi have developed resistance to the currently used drugs then tinea can spread.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

It usually takes 2-3 weeks to go away
Detailed Answer:
It usually takes 2-3 weeks to go away.
4 days is too less a time to judge the efficacy of the medicines.
