Suggest Treatment For Tingling Sensation In The Hands And Feet
Very likely are due to anxiety- management explained
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your question and understand your concern.
There are a few causes that I might think of when a patient has similar sypmtoms as you do.
Having quick episodes of feeling funny and having the tingling sensation very likely are related to anxiety episodes. This is even more possible due to the length of the episodes that is very short.
Another cause but less likely in your case might be if you have any allergy to any kind of food and you feel these symptoms when you are introduced to it. This would explain the throat sensations but generally they tent to go further with difficulty breathing and last longer which do not seem to be what happens in your case.
Another rare condition that might cause neurologic symptoms that come and go is Multiple Sclerosis. It would cause symptoms like numbness or weaknesses that tent to last for a while and go. These episodes tent to last longer than a few minutes, probably might go on for days;Multiple Sclerosus does not seem to be the most likely diagnosis in your case.
So by what you explain it is very likely you are having anxiety related symptoms that make you feel funny. You might need to check the stress level in your life and try to work towards reducing stress like:
1. making sure you do not overtime,
2. make sure you share your struggles with close relatives that you trust they love you and can keep secrets;
3. go regularly for walks and do activities you enjoy;
4. make sure you spent quality time with friends and family
5. be aware of the amount of cafeine in your diet and reduce it if you are consuming more than 1-2 coffees a day or you are having cola or other energy drinks make sure you limit those
6. watch the amount of alcohol use- regular consumtion of alcohol might aggravate anxiety
7. having some sportive activity helps with health in general and with mental health specifically also.
If you are doing these and you do not find a reduce in the episodes than you will need to do a check with a doctor to confirm the diagnosis and have few other tests. At least I would recommend TSH check to rule out thyroid problems that aggravate anxiety issues. Other tests might be needed depending on the findings in physical examinaiton your doctor will do.
If you have permanent symptoms like a weakness or numbness on one arm or leg or face or throat areas that remain so for hours you will need to urgently see a doctor and have a thorough examination to find the cause of it.
I hope this is helpful and answers to your question.
Kind regards

Anxiety might cause physcial symptoms even when we are not aware of it
Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
I understand your concern related to the fact that you do not feel anxious so how can these symptoms be due to it while you do not know any reason why you shoud feel so. This is what happens with some patients that have physical symptoms like you do and that are so not specific for other medial condition. The only way all your symptoms in the throat and hands can be connected is by an anxiety episode. The body sometimes reacts to stress or things that trouble us by physical symptoms that might come for a few mintues to generally less than an hour.
The throat might feel tight due to spasm that happen during an anxiety episode and numbness is a very common complaint in anxiety due to hyperventilation and PH changes in blood due to that. Generally numbness is on the face and hands in most patient with anxiety episodes. These symptoms might come back again in a while and make the patient uncomfortable for longer periods.
If your symptoms last for longer than half an hour in one episode than allergic reaction should be considered. Some patients with allergic reaction might get skin rash, some might get vomiting and diarrhea and some might get throat tightness and shortness of breath. The last one is a serious allergic reaction as it affects the airways so if the tightness are related to certain exposures you will need to speak with your doctor to find the cause, avoid it and get treated appropriately.
I would recommend you to follow the instructions given in the previous messagel. If this is not an allergic reaction you can try those and see the effect. They are good for health in general and for stress control specifically.
If no improvement with those in a couple of weeks you will need to see a doctor to do a thorough examination and identify the cause of your symptoms.
I hope this is helpful to you but please feel free to write me in case any more clarifications are needed.
Kind regards,
Dr Antoneta Zotaj
