![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Husband has stenosis (surgery did not solve), tinnitus, cirrohsis, and angry does not believe his dr will help but should I overide him and make an appointment with his gp. Opiods (narco) and diazapam helped but has not taken for a year+. help.
Brief Answer:
Well....probably something
Detailed Answer:
there are a lot of options first seeing if the stenosis was changrd with mri and nerve conductions. if there is no longer a blockage but still pain or paralysis then evaluation for therapy is one option. anti depressants nerve damping medicines spinal stimulators nerve block. there might be an option for more surgery but mostly that is not a good option.
there are a lot of options
perhaps input from a spine specialist or university based clinic?

thanks. have tried all suggested and so far no help anywhere. oh well
Brief Answer:
Really?
Detailed Answer:
Ok, I wouldn't be surprised if you've seen the surgeon for follow up. The repeat MRI is likely a good idea and probably has been done but:
University center neurosurgeon?
Pain management?
Local Injections?
certainly physical therapy probably has been tried and perhaps Tens unit? but different physical therapy places do things differently.
Then amitryptiline?
Robaxin and other muscle spasm medicines?
gabapentin and other anti-epileptics?
capcaicin?
Lidocaine patches?
nerve growth factor?
There are several key phrases here that stick out:
" so far no help anywhere. oh well"
"and angry does not believe his dr will help"
These imply other issues besides just the back pain (frustration).
