Uploaded the photos. The pimples on my stomach hav been there for 2-3 days. The ones on my thighs are small bumps which are there for long time and the ocassional pimples come and go with no specific pattern.i would like to know if there is any cause of concern.
Brief Answer:
Avoid trauma, check blood sugar
Detailed Answer:
thanks for sharing nice photographs.
Yes these are the lesion of folliculitis. in most cases staphylococcus aureus is the most common cause while in others MALASSEZIA (fungus ) is the cause.
In most cases it is idiopathic in nature while in others it has been associated with diabetes mellitus and trauma to hair follicle.
In such cases are usually prescribed amoxicillin clavulanic acid for 7 days along with topical fusidic acid.
I would also ask you to investigate your blood sugar in order to rule out early diabetes.
stop wearing tight clothes as it can cause trauma to hair follicle and further aggravate the condition
hope it helps

Hello doctor,
Just wanted to check if it could be due to some.serious disease such as hiv? Since i had read the same about it. I have not had any specific symptom of it, but i did kiss a girl 8 months back (im not sure of her status) and had read that folliculitis could be due to a weakend immume system?

Brief Answer:
Nothing serious
Detailed Answer:
As I have already mentioned that most cases are idiopathic in nature.
yes it is true that it has been associated with HIV but it is not the only feature of HIV, it is one of the several features of HIV. and it is so unspecific that in the absence of other symptoms it does not qualify even as and differential diagnosis for considering HIV.
This is the reason I have asked you to investigate your blood sugar level because diabetes is the most common disease which is associated with immune suppression.
kissing is not a risk factor of HIV even if that girl is HIV positive.
Hope it helps
if you still have any other questions, feel free to ask..
Regards
