Suggest Treatment For Tiredness And Tingling Sensation In Left Arm

Question: Had a bad bout of bacterial pneumonia 2 months ago, contracted in hospital during a knee op. Spent 6 days in hospital, and recovery is very slow, still feel slightly sick and tired, but blood tests and x-rays are normal. I've been feeling a slight tingling sensation in the left arm and leg (the side where the infection was worst), and the side of the knee op. What could it be?

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. To help you further please tell me -
1.Are you able to walk on heel and toes?
2.How strong is the grip as compare to right hand?
Looking forward to your reply. Your symptoms are suggestive of neuropathy that is disease of nerves. The common cause are diabetes, smoking, disturb thyroid function and vitamin B12 deficiency.

Wow! Thanks for the prompt reply! In answer to your questions, I have no problem walking on toes and heels, and grip feels about the same bearing in mind I'm right handed. How would the pneumonia trigger a B12 deficieny? I thought it might be a nerve problem, but don't know how a lung infection could trigger that.

Brief Answer:
Certain drugs may cause it beside dietary lack
Detailed Answer:
Hello
You are welcome.
I am happy to hear that you do not have difficulty in grip/heel to toe walking. There is no direct connection in between pneumonia and vitamin B12 deficiency but you may get because of certain drugs like antacids use or dietary lack.
My suggestion for you would be take vitamin B12 in drug and diet form (meat, milk, cheese, and eggs).
Hope this suffices.
