Suggest Treatment For Traumatic Ulcer On Tongue

Question: A while back I bit the side of my tongue so hard that it left a scar. That has all cleared up, but now I have a white patch in that area that hurts, feels like an ulcer but has never gotten better. Should I go see my dentist?
