Suggest Treatment For Trigeminal Neuralgia
Question: I have trigemenic nerve pain and it is very severe this morning. I have not had an attach in 2 years. I have a prescription carabmazepine with experation date 2012. Should I take one now?

That being said many drugs may retain their properties years past the expiration date, there have been several studies to suggest that (of course that varies among drugs and depending on the conditions they were stored in). I know how intense trigeminal neuropathic pain can be and that you may not be able to obtain an appointment with your doctor right away. So if that is indeed the case it might be worth and safe to use the expired Carbamazepine until you can get a prescription. It might not be as effective as the non-expired product but may help until you can get your hands on it.
