Suggest Treatment For Tumor In The Left Frontal Lobe Of Brain
Why are they saying to wait?
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.
I have gone through the MRI images you have uploaded. It appears to be a high grade glioma.
Taking medicines for seizures is fine but till the time we have a structural cause therein within the brain,we can't expect a good seizure control. Infact,if nothing curative is done for the tumor,we can't expect a good control of the symptoms.
What did the neurosurgeon say about this?Plan about surgical intervention? Radiotherapy?
It is not expected that in next 3 months, without doing anything curative, tumor will resolve by itself.
It can be discussed with the treating neurosurgeon.
Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.

Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.
I am afraid to say that prognosis is usually not good.Average period for which a person survives after the diagnosis is approximately 5-6 years from the time of diagnosis.Surgery usually makes a survival difference of about 24-36 months. However, sometimes even after surgery some microscopic tumor tissue may be left behind, thus reducing the success rate.
An expert opinion of a neurosurgeon should be taken as final.I think, there is no harm in waiting for 3 months to see the growth of the tumor and then deciding upon, for surgical intervention.
Neurosurgeon's opinion should be taken as the last verdict.
