Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Though pancreatic cancer is a dreaded disease, in your case fortunately it was detected at a very early stage. Surgery and chemotherapy have been done as per international standards. Hence I feel you will continue to do very well in the future also.
However, even in earliest stage pancreatic cancer, recurrence is common. It can be reduced by adjuvant chemotherapy but cannot be eliminated totally. In your case I feel there is at least 20-30% chance of recurrence, usually within the first two years.
You should be under regular followup of your surgeon/medical oncologist, maintain healthy diet and lifestyle and hopefully everything will be fine.
Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer further followup queries, if any.
chances of recurring reduces
Detailed Answer:
If there is no recurrence in 2 years then chance of recurrence reduces but still persists. After 5 years it is quite rare.
Hope this helps.
