Suggest Treatment For Type 2 Diabetic Patient
Question: My Mom is a Type 2 Diabetic. Due to climate change she has suddenly started feeling feverish. Feeling weak, cold, shivering are some of the symptoms. She had Crocin last night and was keeping quite well until the effect weared off. Upon consultation with a local doctor he recommended Calpol 650mg. Is this the right medication?
Brief Answer:
Right medication
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
First I would like to know her age.
Calpol ( paracetamol or acetaminophen) and crocin (I guess you have given 500 mg) are same medication. Doctor has increased dosage to have effect long time. This is right medication. You can give it 3 times a day.
Along with that I would suggest sponge her body with warm cloth on her fore head, armpits, hands, legs and abdomen. And record temperature. It will help you and your doctor.
Give her plenty of fluids like fresh juices.
If she will not feel better after 24 hours or fever persists then visit a doctor and get investigations like blood tests done.
If you have any query I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.
