Suggest Treatment For Typhoid Infection During Pregnancy
Question: Hello doctor, I got my widal test done along with the blood test for pregnancy. I am 2 months pregnant. My widal test report shows S. Typhi "O": positive 1 in 320 dilution and S. Typhi "H": positive 1 in 160 dilution. S.para typhi "A(H)": Negative 1 in 20 dilution and S. Para typhi "B(H)": Negative 1 in 20 dilution. Will this typhoid diagnosis affect my baby or its growth?

Typhoid is easily treated by Safe antibiotics in pregnancy. Injection or oral cephalosporin antibiotics have been used For years and have been found Safe in a lot of clinical trials.I have myself treated many patients with Typhoid without any significant side effect.
so please dont worry.Take plenty of fluids and adequate rest.
your doctor will order a scan at 3 months and 5 Months to check growth.
