Brief Answer:
There is need for confirmation with typhidot test...

Detailed Answer:
Hello PN XXXXXXX

Thanks for posting query to HCM.

I read and understand your query, I am Dr Arun Tank, Infectious Disease specialist answering your query.

I have reviewed your reports and the serum widal result by tube agglutination is 1:80.

We can not count this single result as a typhoid infection. Confirmation of result by typhidot test is important.

Widal test result can be count relatively. Once we know the community titre we can count it as a positive or negative depending on the cut off titre of the community. So here I advice you should take the typhidot test done. If the test states two band than you can start your medication.

The prescribed medication by doctor is right but it requires confirmation before you can start the therapy. This therapy should be taken for a week.

You should continue your rest of the medication and health activities like yoga, cycling, jogging etc. This is good for health.

You can ask me for further clarification here, or you can ask me at bit.ly/DrArun directly.

Thank you,
Dr Arun Tank
Infectious Disease Specialist.
