Suggest Treatment For Umbilical Hernia And Heart Failure
Question: Hi,
I am XXXX XXXXXXX my mother having Umbilical hernia and also right heart failure. Could you please suggest me to get treatment. what are the medicine i have to use ?
As per my doctor suggestions i am using below tablets.
1. Assurans 150 mg - 2tabs/daily
2. Endoblock 10mg- 1/2tab/dialy
3. Planeep -T 10mg- 2tabs/dialy
4.Orsibest 10mg- 2tabs/daily.

The medicines that are prescribed are for Right heart failure. She can continue with the medicines.
There is no medical treatment for Umbilical hernia.
If the Hernia is big or Obstruction of small bowel is present, Surgery has to be done.
You should consult a General surgeon/Surgical Gastroenterologist , get her examined clinically and proceed accordingly. She will be shown to Anaesthetist if at all surgery is planned. Anesthetist will do Pre operative evaluation and assess the risk.
After that,you can decide whether to go ahead with surgery or not.

Herniya size is big. When we were taking treatment for that they right now it not posible to do surgery for hernia because of heart failure. They are not able to risk if they taken she will not take breath naturally. How to control hernia size ? Can i use belt for stomch?

Hernia size cannot be controlled.The size depends on the defect and the contents .If the defect is large,more contents like bowel,omental fat will enter and the swelling is seen as big.If the contents go inside the abdomen, then the swelling becomes less prominent .If the contents are present, they may go into obstruction and strangulation leading to Emergency surgery.
Abdominal belt should be used after reducing the contents. It is not a permanent solution.
Chances of complications are more during or after surgery because of heart failure.
If she is developing complications like obstruction, vomiting, constipation, strangulation surgery is a must with high risk.
