Suggest Treatment For Unilateral Swollen Tonsils
Question: I have one swollen tonsil and and on my way to seeing an ent for the problem. Other than Tonsil Cancer would there be any other causes for only one tonsil to become infected and enlarged?

Unitlateral swollen tonsils have the following differentials
1. Infection of the tonsils
2. Stones in the crypts of the tonsil
3. Lymphnode enlargement around that area pushing the tonsil out
Rest are malignancy associated enlargement of the tonsil
Please approach an ENT surgeon for further evaluation. Unilateral enlargement will require evaluation at the earliest
