32 year old male, 6 1, 150 lbs...I have had a swollen left tonsil for over 2 months now. Recently I have noticed white spots on and around the area. I have been getting ear and jaw pain aswell. I have also noticed that with physical excercise, a lump appears in my left armpit ( same side as enlarged tonsil). The doctor is not aware of this yet but I will notify ASAP. I have had tests for strep and mono which have come back negative.. The doctors don t seem as worried as I am but I have concerns about lymphoma or tonsil cancer. I have been sick for about a year now aswell dealing with c difficile (which is now gone) but that shouldnt have any correlation. How concerned should I be. P.S.- Was a heavy drinker
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
Your symptoms seem to be related to tonsillitis. The white spots are commonly related to a bacterial infection of the throat. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also suggest using a throat spray and gargle with salty water. If the symptoms continue, I suggest to take antibiotics.
