Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your information.
Read and understood that you have done your lab reports during the attack of the flu and has upper respiratory tract infection next day.
As you may know the flu affects the whole body, and can alter the lab reports as the internal body also is strained.
Read all the reports carefully; noted many more changes other than the Protein of 8.7 and ferritin of 648. Along with this ESR is 24, BUN of 20, Uric acid, LDL, TSH. Also noted are low testosterone and Vitamin D.
It is good that you do not have any stomach problems. Your thyroid is normal as Free T4 is within normal range. TSH is secreted from the pituitary gland situated in the skull and sends TSH and sends signal to the thyroid gland.
I would request you to first recover from the attack of the flu and the respiratory tract infection. Then only to repeat the all the tests you have done. The further treatment may be needed as per the new reports, clinical evaluation and your physical examination by your treating Physician.
There is not a specific question you have asked for hence can not express more than what is inferred from your history and report.
Please do not worry about the high proteins.
To reduce the ferritin stop taking foods high in iron contents as per the opinion of your Dietitian.
I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications if you feel there is a gap of communication.

It is above the lower limit, but surely no anemia.Your RBC count is also normal, 4.76 Range( 4.5 - 6 normal range)
Your Doctor might have thought anemia on clinical examination.
