Suggest Treatment For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection Symptoms
Question: For about the past week I've had what feels like something lodged in my throat. I don't have any visible swelling. When I turn my head or put my head back, I get a tight, pulling feeling. When I swallow, it feels like I have a lump of goop in my throat. I do smoke but not a lot. There is a history of thyroid issues in my family.
Brief Answer:
Probably upper respiratory tract infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello sir. Thanks for your query.
From your description I would suspect an upper respiratory tract infection. I would recommend recommend-
Salt water gargling 2-3 times\day.
Analgesics (tab. Brufen 400mg thrice daily after food for 5 days).
Antibiotics(Azithromycin), which are available only on prescription. Kindly consult an ENT surgeon so that he would examine your throat and also neck (to rule out any thyroid abnormality) and prescribe the above said medications.
I would urge to stop smoking for time being till your throat symptoms subside.
Hope this answers your query.
