
Suggest Treatment For Urinary Incontinence

Started 2-3 weeks ago. I am a 76 year old female in good health generally.
Do I try exercise, medications, what? In what order? OTC if possible, but Rx OK, if only answer.

You may be suffering from an overactive bladder or mixed urinary incontinence due to possible urethral atrophy at this age , post menopause. It is important that you should be evaluated by a per speculum exam to check for stress or mixed incontinence and if required urodynamic studies may have to be done to ascertain a definite cause.
A stress incontinence would require a urethral suspension surgery where as overactive bladder can be controlled with medications like solefenacin for regular use for 2-3 weeks , available on prescription only.
Also very important is to rule out any urinary tract infection first which can present similarly.
