Suggest Treatment For Urinary Incontinence
The following drugs are effective.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam, Hi!
I have gone through the history given and it is unfortunate that you seem to have developed a high BP as a result of the medication prescribed for your problem.
Based on the history you seem to have features suggestive of overactive bladder resulting in urinary incontinence.
I would recommend following medications which are found to be effective in such scenarios: Tolterodine, Oxybutyin or Darifenacin.
These drugs work by relaxing the bladder muscles preventing bladder contraction. They are generally safe however, their most common side effects include dry mouth & eyes, stomach upset, and constipation.
Certain drinks, foods and medications can act as diuretics — stimulating your bladder and increasing your volume of urine. They include:
Besides medication I would recommend certain lifestyle changes like
Avoid taking bladder irritants, such as alcohol, decaffeinated tea and coffee, carbonated drinks, foods that are high in spice, sugar or acid, especially citrus fruits. Eat more fiber, which can prevent constipation, a cause of urinary incontinence.

. I’m now not drinking excessive water that a nephrologist recommended because of a small kidney growth with scarring and urinalysis traces of blood & protein, as well as doing many daily repetitions of Kegel exercises. This, so far, seems to be helping. It takes a lot of self discipline. I now feel healthy, like a 9.5 on a 1 out of 10 scale, at age 79, and trying to continue feeling so well. I hope and pray that my continence returns. If not, I'll have to consider the prescription, and if it doesn't work, then some other treatment.
Following is the answer for your follow up query.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam, Hi
Thanks for your reply. Gone through its contents and pleased to know that the pelvic floor exercise (Kegel exercise) seems to be working for your problem.
Continue doing as long as you wish, Insha Allah you will be able to get its maximum benefit soon.
The medications which I suggested earlier are not known to increase the BP.
Certain foods like corn soup, citrus fruits like lemon, orange, hot and spicy foods; and drinks like alcohol, both green and black tea, coffee, carbonated soft drinks, artificial sweeteners; BP lowering medications like thiazides, furosemide spironolactone, and large doses of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) act as diuretics by stimulating your bladder and increasing the urine output.
Hope to have answered your query.
Best regards.
