Suggest Treatment For Urinary Tract Infection
Following information is needed for a more specific advice...
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,
I understand your concerns.
Before running into final conclusions, I'd like to have a few more details:
1. Have you tried any new food? drink? medication before the symptoms started?
2. Is it a persistent problem? Does it appear in the morning, at night or all day long?
3. What about the force of your urine flow? Is it decreased also?
4. Are you also having leaking or dribbling of urine?
5. Does anything help or make the problem worse?
6. Do you have any other medical problem? Any surgery done prior to symptoms appearing?
7. Have you done any test so far?
Generally, there are various factors causing problems starting your urine flow in women at your age:
a. urinary retention
b. prolapsed bladder
c. urinary tract infections (UTIs)
d. menopause
Depending on the cause, specific treatment will be prescribed.
For the moment, I advise to:
- go to bathroom each time you feel the need; do not delay
- Kegel's exercise can also help to strengthen the muscles of pelvic floor.
Looking forward to have the requested data in for a more specific advice!

2. this seems to start in the morning but by evenings gets better
3. my flow of urine is decreased some
4. no I do leak urine or dribble
5. it seems to get better sometimes by drinking more water than normal, I try to not drink soda but allow myself a sprite or pepsi during the day no coffee or tea
6. no surgery, but I have had 2 bacterial infections this year and have been told I have a post infectious motility disorder and IBS as I had my gall Bladder removed 3 years ago
7. have had no tests so far
Most probably a relapse of UTI to be determined by following tests...
Detailed Answer:
Hi ,Welcome back to HCM.
Thank you for providing the requested information.
1. From the new data you are providing, it seems that your problems are related to bacterial UTI you have had this year.
2. At this point, I'd advise to run :
- urine analysis
- urine culture
- abdominal ultrasound
To determine the type of infection and how to correctly treat it.
3. Meanwhile, I'd advise to:
- keep drinking lots of water (at least 3 liters /day)
- avoid salty/oily foods
- take Cranberry/uva-ursi/fern stone tea (urine antiseptic supplements)
Along with these please follow the advice advice given earlier.
Wish fast recovery!
