Feeling Of Lump In Throat, Pain In Right Side Of Chest While Swallowing, Burping Feeling. History Of Thrush Infection. Any Connections?

Hi, I'm a forty year old male, I have had the feeling of a lump in my throat for about four days, and have pain in the right hand side if my chest when swallowing (it makes me wince) Im starting to worry because even liquid hurts, and i feel like i need to burp. it may be incedental, but I have had a thrush infection brought on by my preventer inhaler.... That seems to have returned slightly on my tonsils. Are they connected do you think?

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

There are many causes for difficulty in swallowing and chest pain.
Tonsillar enlargement is not only a cause.
Some important causes.
Any mass like tumour in pharynx, oesophagus
Stricture in pharynx or oesophagus.
Degenerative diseases of brain and motor nerves like Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis.
Achlasia cardia, Motility disorders.

So you need further work up to identify the cause for the symptoms experienced by you.
1. Physical examination can easily identify any tumour, neurologic disease etc.
2. Endoscopy.
3. Esophageal manometry
4. Barium swallow.
5. Chest X-Ray.
6. CT- neck and Thorax if needed.

Please consult a physician with these reports.
Hope this helps.
If any doubt, Kindly reply.
Take care.
