Question: I had a radical prostectomies in early November and am still experiencing a constant urge to pee almost 24 hrs a day my urologist gave me some samples of Uribel which controlled the pain but did not cure it ,
Shouldn't this part of the recovery process be finished ,and is there a more safe pain reliever I can use to relieve the pain and discomfort?

Brief Answer:
It takes 6-8 months to get this problem resolved .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone surgery of Radical Prostatectomy for cancer of the Prostate and facing problem of urge to pass urine ,

Assuming that you do not have UTI this is a known complication to occur after this surgical procedure and takes 6-8 months to get cured completely .

Uribel is combination of four drugs that is commonly being prescribed for irritative bladder symptoms .

Do not worry this will get resolved gradually over a period of 6-8 months .

You can use pain killer like Brufen twice daily .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
