enterococci infection in bacterial infection, requires antibiotics
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your follow up question
As per your question I may say that isolated organism enterococci means it's a group of bacteria comprising 17 species, among them [Enterococcus faecalis] and [Enterococcus faecium] are most common found in human urine cultures. They are gram-positive cocci that grow in chains and they are anaerobic organisms.
The most common antibiotics used against this infection is Ceftriaxone, Ampicillin, Amoxicillin, Vancomycin, Dalbavancin, Oritavancin, Linezolid, Nitrofurantoin, Tigecycline etc.
As you are already taking medications so do few things at home may avert reinfection in future-:
1)Drink plenty of fluids like water may help dilute your urine and ensures that you will urinate more frequently allowing bacteria to be flushed from your urinary tract before an infection can begin.
2)After urination and bowel movement to wipe from front to back and it helps prevent bacteria in the anal region from spreading to the vagina and urethra.
3)Try to empty your bladder after sexual intercourse
4)Avoid potentially irritating feminine products like deodorant sprays, douches, and powders in the genital area and this can irritate your urethra
5) You may drink half a glass of cranberry juice daily which may help prevent future infections.
Hope that helps
