What Causes Pain In Ear Spreading To Lower Jaw And Back Of Neck?
HELLO! About a month ago I have started with pain from my right ear reflecting to my low jaw, back of my neck and into my temporal part.I visited my GP, he cheched my both ears and said that he can not see nothing wrong. He prescribed two courses of antibiotic Ampicillin and Diclofenac . I have got a bit better. I have been checked by The dentist aswell and the Dentist didn t find nothing wrong after performed an X-ray. I was turning my head in bed today and was feeling bubbling and pain. What it COULD be? Do i need an MRI? What type of MRI? please. Many Thanks in advance for your advice. Inna.
Since you have been clinically examined by a dentist and GP and have not been diagnosed with any pathology in the ears or dental area but are continuing to experience pain in the ears radiating to the lower jaw and back of the neck, it could be indicative of TMJ syndrome, OA or tension headache/migraine. You are suggested to get blood tests done to detect OA or RA. Get X-ray TMJ and cervical spine done to detect spondylosis or any other ailment.
If X-ray detects pathology, your treating doctor may recommend CT or MRI for detailed study. You will be treated accordingly. Maintain correct posture when walking, sitting or sleeping. Take breaks between work, do not work continuously for long time on the computer. To reduce pain, you can take NSAIDS, Naproxen one SOS when required after food. Physiotherapy may help.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
