Suggest Treatment For Urticaria

Question: I am suffering from urticaria. Is there a way for this to be completely cured?

I am Dr Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, a dermatologist.
Urticaria has an unpredictable course which resolves in 6 months in many individuals and in others it may take even 2 years, 5 years or even 15 years to resolve.
It has been seen that persons with raised IgE levels and thyroid abnormalities have a prolonged course of urticaria which may take even few years to subside.
You can get your serum IgE levels, thyroid function tests and thyroid antibodies to have an idea about the prognosis in your case.
Moreover if your urticaria is settling with antihistaminic like tablet allergra or allegra M you can continue with it as these medicines for a long time don't have any side effects.

Hi Dr. Asmeet,

Thanks a lot for your response. Really helps. Well I have discontinued my allopathic tablets for a while now as it proved to be sedative in my case. I have got myself tested for thyroid which did not result in any abnormal values indicating thyroid. However, I will get my IgE levels tested.
