Question: very itchy butt crack, with itching around vagina, with very red, patchy areas on both sides, upward into sides of thigh - no burning, except when scratching vigorously. Have tried neosporin, cortisone 10, desitin and gold bond powder. I use wipes heavily. I sit a lot during the day, on leather chair. condition subsides for a while, during the day, but periodically starts itching again. overnight, used desitin heavily, and cold pack to sleep. butt crack is primary area of itch. Condition has been going on for several weeks, on and off. seems to be fine when standing or walking around. have ordered pinword medication but not used it yet, have never had a yeast infection, but ordered monistat, not used it yet. I wiped with vinegar, but when redness occurred, vinegar stings. had severe itching reaction when I used gold bond powder liberally. Normally, in excellent health with no allergies. 73 years old. No children nearby, no sex since January.

Brief Answer:
Vaginal atrophy with yeast infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query to healthcare magic.

I have read your question carefully and understand your concern.

All the signs and symptoms may be due to vaginal dryness due to vaginal atrophy and yeast infection.
Hence you can try :
Sitz baths with warm water adding iodine solution three to four times per day
try to keep dry
use cotton lose underwear
use cranberry teas
monistat cream two to three times per day
talk with your gynecologist to prescribe premarin cream (this is for vaginal dryness )
If it doesn't pass after you will try advices I have mentioned above than talk with your gynecologist.

Hope I have helped you and please feel free for further discussion.

Regards
